Chic and sustainable family garden in Montpelier

Style-focused garden that makes space for nature

The owners of this gorgeous garden wanted an outside space to blend seamlessly with their artchitect-designed home, and sculpture collection. Their commitment to style was matched by their commitment to making space for nature. The modernist pond has ramps for wildlife to get in and out, and the plants we chose provide a feast for pollinators all year round. The mixture of native and non-native planting looks great in every season, and offers food and homes to less celebrated, but crucial members of the animal kingdom like caterpillars and beetles (who also eat the slugs - yum yum).

Eco-friendly upgrades:

Stylish water feature is a magnet for wildlife and people alike.

Plants for pollinators - something is in bloom every month of the year.

UK native plans provide food for insects in the larval stage - crucial for birds, and for next year’s butterlfy population.
