Bespoke rill with wildlife pond and bog garden

Sculptural twist on a garden for nature

A gorgeous bespoke rill, lovingly crafted by AlFe CrMo, elevates this pretty front garden into a sculptural space. The owners wanted to turn their generous front garden from something you pass through into a destination in its own right. At the same time, they wanted a large pond to reflect the sky and encourage wildlife, and a sculptural feature that would look good all year round. We designed an asymetrical pond, surrounded by a bog garden, with a corten steel rill (AKA a water channel) that trickles through waving ferns and grasses.

Eco-friendly upgrades:

Large pond with varying depths and shallow access points, to support a wide variety of wildlife

Two distinct areas of planting, one wet and one drier, to increase the range of plants we could include. More plants means more diversity, and diversity is the best thing for nature.

Reused materials already in the garden, including wooden sleepers, soil and Cotswold stone
